Moon Township, PA (March 16, 2010) – Heritage Valley Health System is pleased to announce the appointment of John T. Cinicola, M.D., to the position of Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. As a member of Heritage Valley’s senior management group, Dr. Cinicola will oversee the Health System’s medical staff office, including peer review, continuing medical education, ethics and the medical library. He will also have administrative and operational responsibilities for Heritage Valley’s Family Practice and Podiatry Residency programs, case management, and the institutional review board.

Dr. Cinicola was the former Division Director and the Interim Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Allegheny General Hospital.

Dr. Cinicola is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He obtained his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at the Cleveland Clinic.
